I'm having trouble getting the letter kit to stick, what's going on?
If you're having trouble getting the letter kit to stick, it's important to ensure that the tyre has been properly prepared. Even new tyres can contain oil and dirt that may prevent the lettering from adhering properly. Thoroughly cleaning the tyre will help to create a strong bond between the tyre and the lettering.
Customers with raised letters or ribs on their tyres may face additional challenges when applying lettering. These areas require additional preparation, and we recommend sanding the tyre sidewall before applying the lettering. This will create a flat surface for the decal to adhere to. To sand the tyre sidewall, you can use a Dremel tool with a flap disc attachment or a grinder with a flap disc attachment. Just be sure to use caution and not go to deep into the tyre wall (you're only removing the raised text), as this can damage the tyre.
How much glue shall I apply?
When applying the lettering, be sure to apply enough glue to give the decal full coverage. We recommend applying 2-3 letters at a time to avoid the glue drying before the decal is in place. If the glue starts to dry, it may not adhere to the tyre wall. Installing tyre stickers takes some time, so be sure to take your time and do it carefully.
